Vote Dave Vollrath - At-large Mishawaka Common Council

About Dave Vollrath

August 23, 2007 · No Comments

Dave Vollrath has lived with his wife and two daughters in Mishawaka since 1988. Dave is a professor in the IUSB School of Business & Economics, where he teaches business ethics and management. He has also directed the Bureau of Business & Economics Research and has served two terms as president of the faculty senate. Dave has been a member of the Mishawaka Historic Preservation Commission since 2004.

In this election, Dave sees grassroots democracy as the most important key value of the Green Party. He pledges to do his best to hear the opinions of all citizens by meeting weekly throughout the city, by holding Internet “office hours” and by receiving phone calls, e-mail, and letters. As an issue moves toward a vote by the Council, Dave will speak in favor of a position consistent with the Green values of ecological wisdom, social and economic justice, nonviolence and grassroots democracy. If no clear majority of citizen opinion emerges on the issue, Dave will vote for the Green position. If a clear majority of opinion favors another position on the issue, Dave pledges to vote for the majority position or to abstain.
